Remote Support – Getting Started

Follow these steps to download and run the Remote Utilities Agent for secure remote support.

Download the Agent
Visit the official page and click "Download" under the "Agent" option.

Run agent.exe
No installation required. Just double-click the downloaded file.

Allow Permissions
Click "Run anyway" or "Yes" if prompted by Windows SmartScreen/UAC.

Share Connection Info
Provide the support team with your Internet-ID and Password.

SECURITY

Never share your ID or password with unauthorized users. Close the Agent when support is complete to fully disconnect.

The Agent must remain open during the entire session.

Double Zero Reading (CPT-Application)

1. Activate SETTINGS.

2. Zero reading: Activate "3 Zero Values".

3. Start a CPT Test Normally

A message appears to remind the field technician of double zero readings.

A message to attach a prepared filter tip for a second zero reading.

Notes:

A setting to change when the warning appears will be implemented in an upcoming update.
Zero values included in the .STD or .TXT file follow the SGF standard.

Installation

Install the latest version of the SCPT application, and install the PicoScope standard software version 7.x for Windows.

Also the usual CPT application must be installed, the SCPT software is started from within the CPT application.

Recording a sample

Make sure you have the PicoScope device connected to the PC. Run the CPT as usual until the level where you want to sample. Note: The seismic module is situated ca 65cm above the tip.

Start the SCPT sampler by clicking the SCPT button:

Click the Not armed button so that it changes status to Armed.

If the sampler gets triggered before the signal is sent, decrease sensitivity as needed:

The program may ask you to send the signal again if judged too strong/weak:

Once an acceptable waveform has been sampled, the wave start point can be set. Press Save changes:

Continue the sounding to the next level and repeat. Finish and download data from the Memocone.

Export the SCPT data

A data file of type CSV can be created for import into Excel. The separator is set to ; by default.

Individual samples can be exported (raw or filtered data):

Update Calibration Data

1. Locate the calibration icon

Open the main menu in the MWD application.

2. Load new calibration

Click the scale icon to invoke the calibration window.

Locate the file CalibrationData.txt and click Load New Calibration.

Ensure you have the correct calibration file available on your PC or USB before starting the update.

Automatic setup of depth encoder CW or CCW:

In short: Pair the computer via Bluetooth (G1/C2) or USB (C1/CS1) and run "autoConfig.jar".

Installation process - Step by step

Make sure you are connected to the unit where the depth transducer is connected.
Extract the .zip-file and run autoConfig.jar.
In the app, click the "Configure System" button (see image below).
Wait for the confirmation to appear in the text field.
Finished! Perform a test to ensure everything works as expected.

Geosuite shows incorrect values from VI

Geosuite and VI/VIM method

If the values on the screen in the Envi application are correct, ensure that the settings are correct for Geosuite to handle the STD/TXT file:

1 Open Settings
2 Tick "GS"
3 Tick "Stacks" (Stacks)
4 Mark value "20"
SAVE

Reload your soundings using the DATA button and export new files. They will now work better in Geosuite.

Probe shows zero (0) friction

Troubleshooting: Zero Friction Value (CPT)

If you receive a 0 friction reading during sounding, check the following steps in order:

Mechanical Check

Ensure the friction sleeve is movable before starting the sounding.
Manually push the sleeve upwards towards the connector before starting.
Use ONLY ONE thin O-ring (27.1 x 1.6 mm) above the sleeve.

Verify Measurement (Function Test)

To check if the probe registers low values, perform a "dummy sounding":

Connect the probe via cable.
Start a test sounding in the application.
Push the sleeve upwards towards the connector manually.
Verify in the software that the "F" (Friction) value changes.
